Please join us as we officially launch the 30th anniversary celebration of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts and open its 吃瓜群众-2026 Exhibition and Performing Arts Season on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Our celebration begins at 1 p.m. as we reopen all five of the Quick Center鈥檚 galleries 鈥 Front, Kenney, Dresser, Beltz and Laine 鈥 featuring fresh exhibitions that reflect the Quick Center for the Art鈥檚 commitment to artistic excellence, education, and cultural connection.

Highlights include a behind-the-scenes look at children鈥檚 book illustration by Dr. Heather Harris, new works by realist painters Barbara Fox and Mikel Wintermantel, and the premiere of the Laine Immersion Arts Exhibition, which showcases the powerful digital work of Seneca artist Carson Waterman. A new narrated audio tour, featuring commentary by longtime SBU theater professor Ed. Simone, will debut in the Beltz Gallery.

  • The Front Gallery will feature Once Upon a Sketch by Dr. Heather Lynn Harris, associate professor of Communication, offering a behind-the-scenes look at children鈥檚 book illustration.
  • The Kenney Gallery will showcase treasures from the center鈥檚 Southwest and Asian Collection, highlighting cultural and spiritual artistry.
  • In the Dresser Gallery, realist painters Mikel Wintermantel and Barbara Fox present evocative works rich in atmosphere and technique.
  • The Laine Gallery will honor Indigenous culture through the powerful digital work of Seneca artist Carson Waterman, blending traditional Haudenosaunee themes with contemporary expression.
  • Enhancing the entire experience, the Beltz Gallery will introduce a new audio tour, featuring narration by former SBU theater professor Ed. Simone, providing artist commentary and insights for visitors of all ages.
 

Art of Storytelling

Features a new audio tour, narrated by actor and voice artist Ed. Simone, former longtime professor and director of the theater program at St. Bonaventure.

Visual communication through the ages is the focus of this long-term exhibition showcasing selected works from the 14th century through the 19th century.

The university's extraordinary art collection, which includes Asian, European, American, Modern and Contemporary art, as well as pieces from the John Rogers Statuary Groups, has been installed on an ongoing basis in Quick Center galleries since its opening in 1995.

Asian Collection: Ancient and Modern

Exhibition Dates: Ongoing
Marianne Letro Laine Gallery, first floor
This exhibition includes contemporary works by Chinese and Japanese artists as well as a 20-foot Chinese scroll, a replica of an ancient work.
